Our story

From sharing information to opening doors

Traveller with a backpack on a cobbled street in Vilnius Old Town at golden hour

Pumpkin Abroad began in 2021 as a blog with a simple purpose: to share useful information with people thinking about studying, working or travelling abroad.

The idea came from our own journeys. Between us, we have moved from Cameroon and Zimbabwe, studied in Belarus, Cyprus and Lithuania, and built careers in international companies. Along the way we learned how hard it can be to find clear, reliable answers about universities, jobs, visas and settling into a new country.

The blog became a place to share that knowledge and answer readers' questions. As it grew, so did the questions. Many readers didn't just want information; they wanted someone to help them understand their options and take the next step.

So in 2025 we registered Pumpkin Abroad Consulting, MB and opened our study abroad consultancy in Vilnius, offering hands-on support alongside our guides. So far we have supported more than 1,500 clients. We keep publishing free guides, because sharing information is still at the heart of what we do.

Tabendang Ebaietaka

Director

Cameroon → Belarus → Lithuania

Tabendang moved from Cameroon to Belarus for a master's degree in Practical Business Psychology, then to Lithuania for a second master's in Business Management at Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) in Kaunas.

While studying in Lithuania he worked as a Financial Analyst at Western Union, and for the past two years he has been a Senior Financial Analyst at Guidehouse. He brings first-hand experience of studying in two European countries and building a finance career in an international company.

Fallon Manhanga

Co-founder and Managing Partner

Zimbabwe → Cyprus → Lithuania

Fallon moved from Zimbabwe to Cyprus to start university, then transferred to Kaunas, Lithuania, to complete her bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU). She went on to a master's in Structural and Building Products and is now completing her PhD in Civil Engineering, while lecturing and contributing to research projects.

Alongside her studies she has built professional experience in several industries, as Quality Assurance Lead at Planas Chuliganas, Partnerships Executive at Whatagraph and Operations Specialist at Revel Systems, a Shift4 company. She knows the Lithuanian university system from every side: as a student, a researcher and a lecturer.

Together, they know that a successful move takes more than reaching a destination. It takes preparation, informed decisions and the confidence to work through unfamiliar systems, and that is what we help our clients with.

What we do

Three kinds of moves, and everything around them

We support study, work and travel abroad, plus the accommodation and information that go with them. What each service includes depends on your plans, so we agree the scope with you before we start.

Work abroad

Working abroad can transform a career, but finding the right role and meeting the requirements takes preparation. We help with career guidance, CVs and interview preparation to international standards, work permit information and relocation planning. Job offers and eligibility always depend on the employer, the country and its rules.

How we work

Honest guidance, step by step

Online consultation on a laptop with a step-by-step plan and a passport on the desk

As a study abroad consultancy in Vilnius that also supports work and travel, we know every move is different. Studying in another country involves different requirements from taking a job there or planning a holiday, so we start with your goals, budget and timeline, then guide you through the steps that apply to you. Four principles shape our work:

  • ClarityWe explain processes and requirements in plain language.
  • Practical helpWe focus on useful next steps, not just information.
  • TransparencyYou know what our service includes, what's required of you and what it doesn't cover before you commit.
  • Realistic expectationsUniversities, employers and authorities make the final decisions on admissions, job offers, visas and entry. We help you prepare the strongest possible application, but we never promise outcomes we don't control.

Where a service involves partners such as universities or accommodation providers, we tell you who is responsible for what.
